Silicone Ventricular Drainage Tube / External Ventricular Drains

An external ventricular drainage tube is often used for ventricle puncture, it is a soft silicone catheter that is inserted via a burr hole into the anterior horn of the lateral ventricle and connected to a closed sterile system to allow for temporary drainage of cerebrospinal fluid and/or monitoring of intracranial pressure.

Use of Ventricular Drainage Tube
